Don Rubin,

This is Lance Corporal Bobby Curtis, I am sending this letter in regard to the e-mail you sent to my parents. First off, sorry for the informal letter and sloppiness. I am currently in Fallujah, Iraq (for the third time.) I belong the 3rd Battalion 4th Marines, Lima Company 2nd Platoon. Just in case you don t know, ¾ was the tip of the spear for the war in Iraq in 2003, and in Baghdad the Battalion pulled down the statue of Saadam and secured the starting point for the assault on Fallujah, where I received a Purple Heart. My four-year enlistment is over June 10, 2006, half of my time spent here, fighting. My fights are now memories. My fight is over. I could use some rest.

Your offer is an uncommon one and by far the best. I cannot understand why more Marines, sailors and soldiers don t take you up on the offer. I regret to inform you that I won t be able to meet the dates in August and cannot tell you when I will be in the states. Although me and my wife would like to do something sometime around my birthday in September. Considering we never had a wedding or honeymoon in the 2 years we have been married, she would love this. My parents also would enjoy this just as much. As though I live in 29 Palms, CA travel would be semi-difficult for us. I am sure we could work something out. I have also told some fellow Marines about this and they also like the idea of this. Thank you very much. Please feel free to respond.
